Apple is looking to secure the name "Magic Trackpad" through the US Patent and Trademark Office, new filings show. The trademark would apply specifically under International Classification 009, within which are technologies such as touchscreens and graphics tablets. It is not clear if the name refers to a future product or an existing one.The latter may be more likely, as Apple use of the term "Magic" traces back to the Magic Mouse, a multi-touch controller which ships with the iMac by default. The Magic Trackpad label could, by extension, be applied to the unnamed multi-touch trackpads now...
